Of course....

"Of course"....this is Jackson's latest phrase. It is so cute!! The conversation last night went something like this:

Mom: "hey Jackson, there's your soccer ball!!"
Jackson: gasp
Mom: "Can you kick it to me?"
Jackson: "of course" (what do you think mom...i'm 2...not a baby)

too funny!!

Moving Up!!

I have made the decision to move into a full-time position with Mary Kay. I was in this position once before and things just didn't work out like they could have. When we moved to Plainview, I made the decision to take a step back for a little while until I got my feet underneath me and then I would consider rebuilding. Well....let the rebuilding begin!! The last month has been incredibly busy, but rewarding. I am looking forward to the months ahead and anticipating what God plans on doing through me in this business. I love helping women feel better about themselves! I feel that this is a calling on my life. I would ask that you please pray for me during this adventure....for a focus that is unmatched....and an ability to rest when I can. Also, pray for Dave and the kids. I am doing this for them...to do my part in contributing to our family. Pray that they will be patient with me and supportive of the things that I must do to be successful in Mary Kay.

Christmas 2008

Christmas 2008 was such fun. The kids were really in to it this year. They loved tearing open the presents and kept asking for more. We celebrated Christmas with the 4 of us of Christmas Eve morning. It was kinda nice to have that special time with just us. That night, we had our candlelight service at church and then headed off to Snyder. We had a great time with my family there complete with matching pj's for the girls!! (Sorry again, Kelby for no pj pics) The kids had so much fun with their play kitchen and Jackson's trucks. He didn't really care to open anything else after the Tonka truks were discovered!! It was Makali's first Christmas, so that was very special. She is such a blessing to our family! I thank God every time I think of her for the special gift that he has sent to Kelby and Justin. We returned to Plainview on Saturday so that we would be here for services on Sunday. Dave's parent's flew in from Kingsville the next day and we celebrated Christmas all over again with them. The kids had a great time with their new tricycles from Grandma and Grandpa. Thanks for all the lights and sounds!!! LOL!!! I was so thankful for a few days of pretty weather so that the kids could ride outside. Now, Christmas is over...everything is put away and it's time for a new year. Dave and I are thankful for the gift of another year. For me, I have many resolutions, one being to get into shape. If anyone would like to hold me accountable to that, it would be much appreciated!!Another would be to keep up with our blog better. I'll get the hang of this someday!!! We want to wish everyone a very blessed 2009. I'll post pictures soon!!

Talking.....

So, lately the kids have been talking A LOT!!! They have started repeating everything that is said and it is so funny. Madison talks to her baby dolls all the time and I hear things being said to them that Dave and I have said to her. For example: "You need a nap" or "Do you need a spanking?"(LOL) She has also figured out how to put them in time-out. We have a little stool that is the "time-out stool" and she and Jackson both take turns putting the babies into time out. Too funny. They also have figured out how to manipulate a babysitter pretty well too. Yesterday, a friend of mine was keeping them for me while I was in a meeting and it was time for a nap. When they were told that it was time, the response was "two minutes please". Poor Melissa couldn't resist!! She gave them two more minutes and then tried again. This time, the response was "more minutes please". Melissa was smart this time and didn't give in. Oh how kids figure things out quickly!!

Candy Corn

The kids were candy corn for Halloween. They had so much fun! They really liked their costumes, but didn't want to keep them on their heads. We went to the church "Trunk-a-Treat" event and they sat in the back of the car and helped hand out candy. It was pretty funny. After that, we came home and handed out candy to the kids that came to our house. I think they had more fun saying "Trick or Treat" to the kids that came to the door than doing anything else.

Happenings

Here's the latest on Jackson and Madison:

Jackson - He is starting to talk a lot more. We haven't necessarily been concerned, just curious as to why he hasn't been talking as much as Madison. We've come to the conclusion that (1)he's a boy which makes him slower at doing everything and (2)he doesn't have to talk because Madison does all the talking for him. However, lately, he has been putting 2 and 3 words together at a time. For example, the other day I said to him "I love you, Jackson" and he said "Love you too" just as plain as anything. Pretty cool!!! Love that boy!!

Madison - Talking is not her issue at all! She talks from the time she gets up until she goes to bed. She is so funny! You never know what she is going to say. She is a little drama queen, too! It seems like any little thing can send her into a major melt down. She is also very sweet and tender. She takes care of Jackson and her babies with all the love that you can imagine. Even with all the drama, she's pretty special!!

Love to all!!

New and Exciting News

So, here I am, behind on the blog again. I am officially putting "update blog" on my weekly to-do list. Here are the things that have happened since my last blog: I survived directing my first Vacation Bible School, the twins turned 2, Dave and I got to go on a week-long-no-kids-much-needed vacation, my sister and her husband adopted a baby girl, and Dave and I have been married for 8 years!!!

Now to elaborate on each:

Vacation Bible School: It was awesome! I had so much fun pulling it all together. We had almost 200 kids throughout the week, and about 60 workers. We also had 12 decisions made for Christ during the week. The theme was hawaiian and it was so so cute. We even had a guy build a 12 foot volcano in the chapel that was AWESOME!! My kids had a blast at their first VBS. Our Bible school was Monday - Thursday only and Jackson cried on Friday because he wanted to go back to "bi-cool". Sad and cute all at the same time. I survived the week beautifully and am looking forward to next year.

The Twins turned 2: I can hardly believe it! Time has sure gone by quickly. We had a party with all of our family and it was a ton of fun. My parent's got them a new swing set for their birthday and they love it!! It only took 4 grown men 7 hours to put it together!!! I am amazed with each passing day at how much a 2 year old really soaks up from the world. Madison is really in to playing with her babies. She is such a little mother to them and cares for their every need. Jackson is fascinated with cars and balls. He loves anything that bounces or has wheels. I love to watch their little imaginations develop.

The much needed vacation: My sister is a saint!!! Kelby and Justin kept the kids for us for a whole week. Dave and I went to Dallas and just chilled out. We went to Frisco for a day and enjoyed shopping and a Roughriders baseball game. We really just hung out and got to have a whole week of adult conversation without having to change diapers or break up any fights. I loved it. We went to a restaurant downtown that you must check out: The Old Warsaw. It was a bit on the pricy side, but totally worth it. We got to stay at the Hilton across from the Galleria thanks to a sweet deal on Hotwire.com.

The new addition: "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4. This verse makes me think of the journey that my sister Kelby and her husband Justin have been on the last year or more. They have gone through many trials and heartaches with infertility, only to be blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Makali. It's been so amazing to see the handprint of God on this entire situation. They are such great parents and I am positive that Makali is going to grow up in the love of the Lord.

Happy Anniversary: 8 YEARS!!!! Crazy, I know. I couldn't be blessed with a better husband. Dave is one of a kind. I can't think of another man that would be such a help-mate to me. He helps with the kids, helps with the house, helps with everything. I am so thankful that God allowed me to marry my best friend. I look forward to many more amazing years with him.

Well, that pretty much wraps it up. I hope you all feel updated. In a nutshell, God has been so good to us. We are so thankful for the life that he has blessed us with.

Love to all --
Karomy
